Wallasey

The town of Wallasey is found in the northeast corner of Wirral. It is one of the largest towns on the peninsula, and it is also located at the mouth of the River Mersey. Wallasey's fascinating history is important not only to Wirral, but also to Liverpool, and the greater Merseyside region. Wallasey hosted many of the first gigs for The Beatles in their early days, which were held regularly at the Grosvenor Ballroom. It is also home to many firsts, such as being the port where the first passenger hovercraft was launched in 1962.
